| Sizing Tips |
- In general, the standard width for shoes are "D" for men, and
"B" for women.
|
- If the majority of shoes you buy fit fine, then these are the widths you should
select.
|
- If the shoes you own tend to be wide or feel spacious in width, then you should
consider selecting a narrower width. If the shoes you own tend to be narrow or feel
snug in width, then you should consider selecting a wider width.
|
- If you seem to be "between" sizes and can't decide which
size to select, we suggest you go with the larger size. You can make
adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles or a different lacing
pattern.
|
- With respect to feel... your heel should fit snuggly with no
slipping; the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of
your foot should be snug but not tight; you should have enough room in
your toe box to wiggle your toes.
|
- Feet always swell during the day, we encourage you to try shoes on
later in the day when your feet are at their largest.
|
- People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small
than too big. Clues that your shoes are too small or narrow...
your feet cramp while running or just after running; your feet fall
asleep while running; you get blisters and calluses between or on your
toes.
|
- New Balance shoes are made to fit directly out of the box (they do
not need to be broken in).
|
- Feet typically get bigger with age. We encourage you to have your
feet measured every year.
|
- Many times women's feet become a half-size (or more) larger after
pregnancy.
|
- Your left and right feet may differ in size by as much as a full
size. Always measure and try shoes on both feet and buy shoes to fit
your larger foot.
|
| Browsing for your size and width... |
If your size is not listed in the order information for a specific style, then your size is out of stock for that style. You can choose to browse only the shoes or apparel in your size by selecting your desired size on
the category page you are interested. You can also narrow down
your selection by width.
|
 |
| Determining what sizes are available... |
If your size is not in the drop-down menu, that size is out of stock for that particular item. This applies for both
shoe and apparel items.

Measuring Guidelines
- Neck - Measure a shirt collar that fits
you well. Lay the collar flat and measure from
center of collar button to far end of opposite
button hole.
- Sleeve Length - With arm relaxed,
slightly bent and at your side, measure from the
center back of neck, over the point of the
shoulder, down the outside of the arm and to the
wrist.
- Chest / Bust - For the chest, measure
just under the arms and across the shoulder blades
holding the tape firm and level. For the bust,
measure at the fullest point of the bust.
- Waist - Measure around your natural
waistline.
- Hips - Measure around the fullest point
of your seat while standing.
- Inseam - Measure similar pants that fit
you well. Lay them flat, with the front and back
creased smooth. Measure along the inseam from the
crotch to the bottom of the leg hem along the
inseam (see illustration above).

Shoe Lasts
Shoe lasts are the wood or plastic forms a New Balance shoe is constructed around; they provide a unique fit and size profile for women, men, and kids.
Fit begins with an interpretation of the foot's natural shape--its
length, width, and girth, or volume--in three-dimensional forms,
called "lasts." Aravon shoes are developed on multiple lasts to
offer a better fit for a variety of foot shapes and sizes. Slip
on a pair of Aravon shoes and feel how well they fit--in length,
in width, and by accommodating foot volume. Meticulously sculpted
lasts make a truer, more comfortable fit possible.
Each collection is built on a different last to accommodate
different foot types.
- The Everyday Last, ML-1
Our fullest-fitting last accommodates the widest range of
foot shapes and types
- The Office Last, GL-1
Moderate dimensions offer better fit for feet that require
less volume
- The Sandal Last, LL-1
Offers a substantial platform of support for an
open upper pattern

| Made in the U.S.A. |
Look for...
Many New Balance shoes are produced by the New
Balance team in one of five United States factories. While most of the footwear industry
has moved its production overseas to take advantage of low labor costs and generally cheaper production costs,
New Balance has continued to make many of their shoes in the United States and have expanded production substantially.
Since 1994 New Balance has increased their manufacturing jobs by 23%.
|
| Quote from New Balance...
"We at New Balance are proud to
provide jobs to the U.S. workforce, and proud of our well-educated, high-quality employees who
can compete with anyone in the world. Through their hard work, we are able to make many of our
models of shoes in the United States despite the competition from lower cost imports." |
|
Unfortunately, New Balance is not able to obtain all materials and components that are needed for
the shoes produced in the United States. In some cases, they are simply not available. In other
situations, economic and quality considerations dictate foreign sourcing. However, New Balance
remains committed to providing jobs for American workers and to supporting domestic
manufacturers and suppliers where possible.
|
|
The Federal Trade Commission has attempted to determine what it means to say a product is
"made in" the United States. While this seems like a simple question, the answer is
not always obvious given the global nature of the economy. New Balance believes most consumers think
"Made in USA" means that real manufacturing jobs were provided to U.S. workers in
order to make that product. The shoes produced in New Balance U.S. factories are made by U.S. workers
using both U.S. and imported materials.
